i have a new deviantart account exclusively for illustrations for children. =]

I just wanted to segregate it so it'll be more organized, and for portfolio purposes. ^__^
( these are the things i do when i have a paper to cram )
I guess one of the biggest revolutions in my art style was brought about by Sir Egay Samar which is weird since he's a writer and not an artist. But he made an announced suggestion to artists in my class to join Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (Ang INK) and
Adarna. I just thought that drawing for children's books was cool and i loved children (yes, it is that simplistic) so i researched more about it, learned about the artists and got hooked.
i fell in love, i guess, with Children's illustration and up to now i can't really define this style o__o. but i guess it comes naturally, and unconsciously after i started looking at children's illustrators like Ma'am Panch, Pepper Roxas (who by the way is super cool and has, i think, the biggest influence in my art style among children's illustrators), Lisa Flores, etc.
I'm still trying to divert from the very Asian (yes, anime included) style orientation i kind of used as a foundation for learning how to draw. It is very hard. :nods: Especially if Sailor Moon is one of the first things you learned how to draw.
I guess one of the reasons why i like children's illustration is because i loved being a child. o__O
Sooo... yeah. Until now I keep discovering amazing children's illustrators like Marla Frazee and her work for Sarah Pennypacker's CLEMENTINE.

I.n.k. is a great group to be in. YOu should try-out. Your style will be eagerly accepted for sure.
Hey! they took ME in. And my art isn't the most "appropriate" for children's books.
You should give mam panch a bump too. Ask her about the UNTITLED FOLIO. Sali ka na rin.
Cheers
